Jaime Colson

Jaime Colson (1901 – November 20, 1975) was a modernist painter from the Dominican Republic. He, along with Yoryi Morel and Darío Suro, is considered one of the founders of the modernist school of Dominican painting.





Cándido Bidó

Cándido Bidó (20 May 1936 – 7 March 2011) was a Dominican painter and fine artist, He was the first painter from the Dominican Republic to have an exhibition in France.

Paul Giudicelli Palmieri (1921–1965) was an abstract painter from the Dominican Republic.






Darío Suro


Darío Antonio Suro García-Godoy (June 13, 1917, La Vega – January 18, 1997, Santo Domingo) was an art critic, diplomat and painter from the Dominican Republic. He was the nephew of painter Enrique García-Godoy, his first art teacher. Along with Yoryi Morel and Jaime Colson, he is considered one of the founders of the modernist school of Dominican painting.
